September 13th -
Well it wasn't a good day for the team today
as we had a lot of problems with accidents. In the 4 cylinder Lee
drove and after 3 laps the front axle broke and wasn't able to
finish the race. In the full size Les drove and made it 4 laps
out of 300 and got hit from #25 and spun him around into the water
barrels and broke the rear axle and tire right off the car and he
wasn't able to finish the race. Tough day for the team after they
all worked so hard to get both the cars ready for the final stock
car challenge.
September 6th -
The crew worked hard on Friday night to change
the motor for the George Balcaen Memorial Race at Red River Co-op
Speedway. There was a 70% change of Thunderstorms in the area but
the track got all the heats done and the Street Stock Feature and as
the Super stocks were coming out it was a huge down pour. Everyone
was scrambling in the pits to get out before they got stuck, which
we did and messed up the front end of the hauler. We finally got out
onto the road and had to straighten the tie-rod end so the wheels
were straight. Next race will be the stock car challenge September
13th, hope to see you out there.
August
30th & 31st - Ryan, Eric, Johnny,
Don & Lee all headed out first thing Saturday morning for Dauphin,
Mb. we arrived there around 1:30 and got the Truck unloaded and had
a bite to eat. We started racing at 3:30. Lee drew #1 for the time
trails for positioning in the heat race. Terrible race track as it
was very rough and still very wet so he didn't get a good time.
He started near the back of his heat race and was able to finish 3rd
and in the feature he started 7th and finished 3rd. They had
alot going on at the fairgrounds this long weekend, like quad trail
rides, show and shine classic cars, burnouts, monster
trucks and our stock car racing. We had 14 cars from Winnipeg come
out to battle and see who was the weekend champion.
On Sunday we ran in Heat 1 and finished 1st
and then we ran in the B-Main and won that also. In the feature it
went by your average over the weekend and we got outside pole to
start the A-Main. Lee got out in front of #17 for a bit then ended
up going off the track coming into turn 3 but got back on but lost a
few positions. Around lap 12 of 20 lap feature he was battling back
and forth with 2T for 2nd place but was caught up in lap traffic. he
ended up finishing in 2nd place. was a great weekend and we all had a lot of fun.
Special Thanks to the Dauphin Promoters that made this weekend a
great success and the hospitality they showed.
August
28th - Lee started pull in Heat 1
and on lap 2 #19 slid up and knocked the front steering out almost 4
inches but lee was able to continue the race and finish in 4th
position. In the Feature he had to start back in 9th position since
they only take the top 3 in the points for the heat to get your
transfer spot. The crew worked hard to get the truck ready for the
feature and Lee didn't want to disappoint them and our sponsors for
all the hard work thru out the year they all did. Lee got a
good start and within a few laps he was able to get up to 4th
position and a few caution flags kept him up near the front of the
pack. On lap 12 he got by #44 to take over 3rd position and gaining
on #19 for second place. Then another caution came out with 2 laps
to go and Lee got a good start and passed #19 and took over 2nd
spot. He just ran out of laps to catch #2 but it was a good run and
the Team Won the Mid-Season and Track Championship for the First
time in the Castral Super-Truck Division. WTG TEAM...
We will be racing in Dauphin
this weekend Aug 30th and 31st for a 2 day Special so hope you can
